Salesforce alternative

A Salesforce alternative that keeps up with the business, because it is built around yours rather than around everyone.

Salesforce is enterprise crm, and a capable one. The difference is not a feature list. It is that a product is built once for every business, and we are built around yours and stay with it as it changes.

Salesforce, described the way somebody who works there would describe it.

Real strengths
  • Unmatched depth once it is configured, and an ecosystem for everything else
  • The right answer for a large, specialised sales organisation
  • Nobody is ever criticised for choosing it
What sits outside it
  • It is a sales system. Jobs in the field, stock, assets, rosters and the back office are other products or other vendors
  • It assumes an administrator, and without one it drifts
  • Sized and priced for a company that has already outgrown the alternatives

The pricing model decides more switches than the feature list does.

Salesforce

Per user, per month, plus an implementation project

Licences run from an entry tier up to several hundred dollars per user per month, and the licence is rarely the number that decides it. Implementation is quoted separately, and independent guides put a straightforward small-business rollout in the tens of thousands of dollars before anybody logs in. Budget the licence, the implementation and the administrator who keeps it current as one figure.

Zorah

One fixed monthly fee, sized to the work, not to headcount

No per seat charge and no hourly rate that drifts, so putting the system in front of a whole field team does not change the bill. The fee is set after a discovery call, against the volume the business actually runs, and reset annually against what it turned out to be.

How the four engagements work

Salesforce ships one roadmap to everybody. We work with one business.

  • One business to understand rather than a roadmap written for every business at once
  • No administrator to hire, and no drift when that person leaves
  • The work after the deal closes is in scope, not a separate product
  • New technology reaches you when it is worth having, not when it reaches a release schedule
Salesforce is the better answer if
  • You have a large sales team and somebody who administers it
  • The pipeline is genuinely complex and the depth earns its cost
  • It is implemented and adopted
Worth a conversation if
  • You are paying enterprise CRM prices to track a few dozen deals
  • The operational half of the business is still in spreadsheets beside it
  • The implementation quote is larger than the problem
What moving actually involves

Where Salesforce is embedded we would not touch it, and we will say so. The common case is a South African business being quoted an enterprise CRM to solve a quoting problem, where the quote, the job and the invoice never joined up in the first place.

What people ask before leaving Salesforce.

What does Salesforce really cost a smaller business?
The licence is the visible part. Implementation is quoted separately and independent guides put a straightforward small-business rollout in the tens of thousands of dollars, and an administrator is assumed rather than optional. The honest figure is licence plus implementation plus the person who keeps it current.
Do we need a CRM that big?
If the sales motion is complex and the team is large, yes. If the real problem is that a quote, the job it becomes and the invoice at the end live in three different places, a bigger CRM does not touch it.
