Xero is cloud accounting software, and it is good at it. We do not build accounting software and we are not asking you to move. The work that happens before the ledger, the quote, the job, the people and the assets, runs on our platform, and what it produces reaches Xero without anybody typing it twice.

Xero is clean, modern cloud accounting with a strong app marketplace, and it is one of the best products in its category. It stays where it is.

Xero charges per organisation rather than per seat, which keeps the accounting bill predictable as headcount grows. The cost that surprises people is the marketplace around it: the applications bolted on to cover payroll, jobs, inventory or expenses each carry their own subscription, so the real number is the stack rather than the Xero line.

One fixed monthly fee, sized to the work, not to headcount
No per seat charge and no hourly rate that drifts, so putting the system in front of a whole field team does not change the bill. The fee is set after a discovery call, against the volume the business actually runs, and reset annually against what it turned out to be.
Xero keeps doing its job. Its data stops sitting on its own.

Xero stays. What usually changes is the six applications around it: instead of a stack of connectors between separate products, the work runs on one system and the invoice reaches Xero from it. The useful first exercise is counting what that stack costs in total and what breaks between the pieces.
